We are pausing for a short commercial break. I am participating in a summer teacher challenge of sorts. Our first task was to update teacher materials that needed a fresh coat of paint, so to speak. I try to refresh most of my materials each year while teaching, so the next year’s class gets something different. For all of my makeover ideas for teacher units, visit the Teacher Tools links. To get a quick peak at how I revamped my final novel unit of the year, see the snapshots below.

Looks really good! The addition of color really makes it pop! 🙂
Mixing it up in Middle
Thank you!
You made some great improvements! Love the clean, new look and increased room for student answers. The new cover is much more “eye-catching”. I like your point about simple clip art to minimize student distraction. I create products for K-3 and try to make them “cutesy” but at the same time not distracting. It is hard to find that middle ground sometimes.
Thanks for your comment. I always struggle with the clip art factor! I typically target 4th grade+, so I use less because I think it looks like an older learner. It is hard when I see all of the products on TpT with a lot more embellishments! I’m going rogue. 🙂
